In 2011, Athena entered into close cooperation with Je Pistons, a leading company for over 60 years in the production of car pistons. Je Pistons forged car pistons are specially designed for extreme applications, using the highest quality raw materials, cutting-edge numerical control (CNC) machinery and over 3000 forging processes to meet market demands. The auto pistons chosen by Athena for the racing car world are made of low silicon content 2618 aluminum alloy: in professional competitions, the higher compression ratio, the high thrust or the use of high quantities of nitrogen require a higher tensile strength, typical of this alloy. Thanks to the accuracy of design and manufacturing, Je Pistons do not have any deburring on the head and do not require any post-machining. These pistons are undoubtedly the perfect combination of low friction, design, increased stability and optimum strength.
