How are the bolts tightened?After perfectly cleaning the wheel hubs, position the spacers and insert the fixing bolts to check if the thread is right for your hub.The spacers must rest perfectly against the surface of the brake disc or drum.Now check the length of the bolts and then definitively tighten the spacer.
When to replace wheel bolts?Bolts are not repairable. In case of wear or failure, they must be replaced. To do this, unscrew the screws without damaging the hub threads and mount the respective spare parts, but first clean any dirt off the contact areas.Lubrication of bolts with grease-based oils is strictly forbidden. This could lead to self-loosening.Periodically check the tightening force of the bolts to avoid their unscrewing. The required torque setting is given in the vehicle technical documentation.
