Athena expands its portfolio with the distribution of Lumos, a US brand borned by the idea of two mechanical engineers, Euwen Ding and Jeff Haoran Chen, offering smart helmets that all cyclists should wear.

Lumos bike helmets are not just protective helmets, but a real revolution for road safety, as they are equipped with an intelligent lighting system that makes people more visible in traffic.

In fact, they are not only equipped with front and rear lights enabled with a light touch on the back of the helmet, but even have directional arrows easily activated thanks a wireless remote control installed on the handlebar.

To increase driving safety, Lumos helmets have an accelerometer which, in the event of braking, detects slowdown and signals it to motorists and pedestrians by turning on a special light.

Two main models are proposed by Lumos: the Ultra line, with an attractive and modern design and the new Matrix line, more urban and innovative, equipped with an enhanced LED matrix on the rear panel and animated direction indicators able to increase the visibility on the street.

Both models integrate MIPS technology, an innovative rotating system inside the helmet, designed to protect the head in case of fall.

These helmets can also easily connect to Apple Watch: just move your arm in the turn direction to activate the directional arrow.
