The Leatt brand was founded in 2001 when Dr. Christopher Leatt witnessed the tragic death of a motorcyclist. Driven by the dedication to protect his son and all riders from the effects of catastrophic neck injuries, Leatt began research and development on a device that could withstand even the most powerful shocks. In 2003, Dr. Cristopher developed the award-winning Leatt-Brace® in Cape Town, South Africa, which was also tried and tested by BMW engineers in Germany. Leatt Corporation has become a global distributor of Leatt-Brace®, the revolutionary neck protection system for all helmet-wearing sports. Thanks to its success, the South African brand further expanded its product range by introducing motorcycle and MTB helmets, vests, motocross and endurance racing knee pads, elbow guards, hydration systems and cutting-edge motocross and MTB apparel collections that are redefining protection and confidence even in the most extreme sports. The main objective of the brand remains that of ensuring the safety of all athletes, from professionals to amateurs.
