Alonte (VI) December 2019 – In EICMA 2019, Athena presented a specific packaging renewal plan. This plan has two goals: establish the brand and the products as more recognizable for the consumer and to ensure the proper eco-friendly disposal process for the packaging.
The initiative started about a year ago concerning both the gasket plates and the motorbike spare parts line. The spare parts are sold in two unique, yet clearly distinguishable packaging, depending on the type and performance:
- Standard: perfect for those who need a compatible spare part for their bike with the same performance as the original. These boxes are gray.
- Race: designed to increase the performance of the bike. These boxes are black.
The new packaging boxes will gradually replace 95% of the old packaging during 2020. The graphics clearly and precisely represent the product within, making it immediately recognizable. The packaging displays a brief description of their content in 6 different languages: Italian, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and German.
The new packaging boxes are made up of recycled material, using only water-based, odor-free paints, making them more eco-friendly both in the production and disposal phase.
However, the restyling process doesn’t stop here: the company is making new cardboard boxes to replace 90% of the packaging currently in plastic during 2020. Athena product portfolio will therefore consist of 96% in recycled cardboard boxes. This will drastically reduce the pollution resulting from the previous material ultimately making the recycling easier, with several advantages in terms of environmental sustainability.
