CAPE TOWN, South Africa (10 January 2019) – The inventors of the Leatt-Brace® unveiled their new DBX 4.0 Helmet at the end of last year and it has since already been included in the 2018 Interbike Innovation Awards, winning in the category of ‘Mountain Bike Product Innovation’. It has now also just been announced that it has won a 2019 Design & Innovation award.
This prestigious award is granted by a jury of bicycle industry experts in recognition of the best bicycles and bicycle products.
The new DBX 4.0 helmet design is extremely lightweight and ventilated thanks to 22 large ventilation ports and a detachable mouthpiece. It is comfortable to wear with padding all-round and offers a good fit. The shell is made of a Polymer compound and the liner is an in-molded EPS + EPO impact foam for energy absorption.
Like all Leatt helmets, it features their award-winning 360° Turbine Tech. The helmet is lined with turbines which are 360 ̊moving discs constructed from an energy-absorbing shape and material. This technology has two exclusive advantages, namely the reduction of rotational acceleration to the head and brain and the absorption of energy upon impact at concussion level.
The DBX 4.0 Helmet is available in black, ink, ruby and steel colorways and retails for $229.99/ €229.00/£169.99.
