Motorcycle Oil Filters

Athena oil filters are manufactured by the original equipment manufacturers of the most important motorcycle builders and ensure good filtering capacity under all conditions of use, removing impurities that can affect the proper operation of the engine. The wide range of filters available stands out for its affordability, quality and reliability. When to change an engine oil filter A change of oil and engine oil filter can be carried out at home without having to go to the bodyshop. It is good practice to change the motorcycle oil filter at the same time as changing the oil, approximately every 10,000 km, if the motorcycle is used on the road (more often if traveling on city roads often) or about every 10 hours in the case of an off-road motorcycle. Rules for proper oil filter replacement Place the motorcycle on the stand and let it warm up for a couple of minutes. Warm oil flows easier. Use a drain pan to collect used oil and place it under the oil drain cap. Unscrew the cap using the special wrench provided for the type of motorcycle Wait for all the old oil to come out of the crankcase Unscrew the filter using an oil filter wrench Let the oil out of the filter Carefully clean the filter housing Tilt the bike to allow even the last drops of oil to come out of the crankcase Lubricate the top edge of the new filter and gasket to be placed in the housing and fill it by 1/5 with the new oil Install the new filter Close the drain cap, open the oil tank cap and fill the tank with the new oil in the quantity specified in the motorcycle Use and Maintenance manual.
