Athena's black wheel spacer bolts range was developed to match the most modern alloy or black-diamond wheels, thus offering a perfect chromatic harmony for your vehicle.
The whole range with black galvanisation, made of high-quality 10.9 stainless steel class, is TÜV certified and is characterized by a black finish made of three layers: zinc, nickel, black topcoat. This galvanization ensures a high resistance to corrosion, up to 5 times higher than a standard galvanization.
How to choose the right bolts for my spacer?
Check that the bolts chosen are identical to those supplied with the wheel rim already mounted on the car.
For cars fitted with wheels different from the originals, or to which set-up or bodywork changes have been made, it is advisable to contact specialist centres to check feasibility of mounting.
In any case, you should remember that mounting them requires basic knowledge of automotive mechanics and must be done in a workmanlike manner in order to ensure your safety. For this reason, we recommend that you always contact specialist centres and skilled experts for proper installation.
How are the bolts tightened?
After perfectly cleaning the wheel hubs, position the spacers and insert the fixing bolts to check if the thread is right for your hub.
The spacers must rest perfectly against the surface of the brake disc or drum.
Now check the length of the bolts and then definitively tighten the spacer.
When to replace wheel bolts?
Bolts are not repairable. In case of wear or failure, they must be replaced. To do this, unscrew the screws without damaging the hub threads and mount the respective spare parts, but first clean any dirt off the contact areas.
Lubrication of bolts with grease-based oils is strictly forbidden. This could lead to self-loosening.
Periodically check the tightening force of the bolts to avoid their unscrewing. The required torque setting is given in the vehicle technical documentation.
