Alonte, July 17 2025 – After a few years of behind the scenes collaboration, WES Management and Athena, through its electronics brand GET, are proud to publicly announce their partnership on a pioneering pilot project entering its operational phase during the 2025 WES racing season. The activity centres on the field testing of an innovative control system designed to monitor e-Bike performance in real race conditions.

To grant fair racing and exciting sporting performance, WES and Athena are partnering in e-Biking, after a long relationship in other business areas.

In a fast-paced scenario such as the e-Bike racing and market, WES, the World e-Bike Series and the first-ever and sole UCI E-Mountain Bike World Cup, represents an asset for bike and motor manufacturers to develop, test and improve their products.

Founded in 1973, Athena is an Italian-based international company specialising in designing, developing, producing, and distributing components, software, and hardware for the motorbike, e-bike and bike industries, with broad expertise in 2-wheel racing.

Starting from the data acquisition systems for the engine management, GET – Athena’s electronics brand – coordinates the design and development of dedicated software and firmware. By applying the most innovative technologies to system design, GET delivers products that guarantee optimal power control and perfect parameter analysis, to revolutionise performance management for all kinds of vehicles.

Therefore, with a brand-new, specific system consisting of a device and software developed by GET, WES and Athena aim to collect WES racing e-Bikes data and monitor the key performance indicators in real time.

A feasibility study is undergoing to assess the suitability of the system for integration into WES competitions, to undertake a complete test phase by the end of the 2025 racing season, during the WES events scheduled for October 2025.

The objective is to fine-tune the solution and confirm it meets the highest expectations in terms of accuracy, reliability, and race integrity.
