GET, EXCLUSIVE SUPPLIER OF THE NEW TALENT CATEGORY OF THE SPANISH ESBK CHAMPIONSHIP
Alonte (VI), February 2025. GET, the electronics division of Athena and a leader in the production of electronic control units for Motorsport, has been chosen as the exclusive supplier for the new TALENT category of the Spanish Superbike Championship ESBK. The ESBK Talent category, dedicated to young riders aged 13 and over, represents a springboard to higher-level competitions organized by DORNA. The project, promoted by the Real Federación Motociclista Española (RFME), aims to ensure low costs and accessibility, offering riders and teams the opportunity to grow in a highly competitive technical environment to shape the champions of tomorrow.
GET: THE ELECTRONIC HEART OF THE NEW ESBK TALENT CATEGORY
GET will exclusively provide the SX1 PRO control unit, the multifunctional SX1 Controller, and the entire electrical system of the category’s standard motorcycle, the Honda NSF250R: among the race functions managed by GET technology, the Map switch, Launch control, Pit limit, and Rain light stand out. This integrated system allows the use of additional devices such as the Dashboard, the Lambda Probe Kit, and the Data Acquisition system, offering a complete and optimized system for competitions.
AN EDUCATIONAL AND COMPETITIVE PROJECT: THE ROLE OF ETG RACING
In collaboration with Escola Tècnica Girona (ETG), GET has organized technical training sessions dedicated to the mechanics and technicians of the participating teams. During these sessions, Test Engineer Gil Perarnau Fernando and Racing Sales Account Nicolò Baldo demonstrated the functionalities of the SX1 PRO control unit and initiated training programs to maximize the efficiency of GET devices in competition.
A distinctive element of the new ESBK TALENT category is, in fact, represented by the participation of the official ETG RACING team. ETG students will be actively involved in the team as technicians and mechanics, putting into practice the skills acquired during their training and gaining direct experience in competitions. This project represents an extraordinary educational opportunity for the future professionals of Motorsport.
Gil Perarnau Fernando, Test Engineer at GET, stated:
"With ETG Racing, we have been collaborating for years to combine technology and training. The SX1 PRO control unit and the GET system offer the young riders of ESBK Talent reliable and advanced tools to maximize race performance and successfully tackle their technical and sporting development."
Albert Torras, Team Manager of ETG RACING, added:
"The collaboration with GET is a well-established reality that has accompanied us for years, not only in this championship but also in other projects and initiatives related to Motorsport. With GET, we have found a technological partner capable of supporting us with innovative and reliable solutions, allowing us to develop projects that combine advanced training and race performance. Our participation in the ESBK Talent championship represents further proof of the added value that this synergy brings to our team and to future generations of Motorsport professionals."
